Helge Sigurd Næss-Schmidt – Partner & Director of Economics at Copenhagen Economics

I am Partner in Copenhagen Economics where I head the service areas of Energy & Climate, Public finance, and Financial regulation. Prior to Copenhagen Economics, I worked at the Danish Ministry of Finance, OECD and the European Commission.

In Copenhagen Economics I provide consulting services to public and private clients with a focus on energy policy, public finance and policy evaluation. In addition I have been project manager for a wide range of clients particularly in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, and for the EU institutions (Commission and Parliament).

I am a member of a study group on public finances in the Germany Ministry of Fi-nance and Policy Fellow at the public finance institute of FiFo in Germany.

I have a vast experience in project management in private and public organisations with a strong focus on energy and climate policy related areas and public finance related issues.

I hold a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and has taught economics both at the University of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Business School.
